1. The jurisdiction of a High Court may be extended to or excluded from a Union territory -LRB- article 230 -RRB- .
   किसी संघ राज्य क्षेत्र को एक उच्च न्यायालय की अधिकारिता के अंतर्गत लाया जा सकता है अथवा उसकी परिधि से निकाला जा सकता है ( अनुच्छेद 230 ) .
2. Parliament may , however establish by law a common High Court for two or more States or for two or more States and a Union territory -LRB- articles 214 and 231 -RRB- .
   लेकिन संसद विधि द्वारा दो या अधिक राज्यों के लिए या दो या अधिक राज्यों और किसी संघ राज्य क्षेत्र के लिए साझे उच्च न्यायालय की स्थापना कर सकती है ( अनुच्छेद 214 तथा 231 ) .
3. The populations in some of the Union territories such as Andaman and Nicobar Islands , Chandigarh , Dadra and Nagar Haveli , Daman and Diu , and Lakshadweep are too small to have any representative in Rajya Sabha .
   अंडमान तथा निकोबार द्वीपसमूह , चंडीगढ़ , दादरा तथा नागर हवेली , दमण तथा दीव और लक्षद्वीप जैसे कुछ संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों की आबादी इतनी कम है कि राज्य सभा में उनका कोई प्रतिनिधि नहीं है .
4. The Consti- tution provides that the Lok Sabha shall consist of not more than 530 members chosen by direct election from territorial constituencies in the States , and not more than 20 members to represent the Union territories , chosen in such manner as Parliament by law provides -LRB- article 81 -LRB- 1 -RRB- -RRB- .
   संविधान का उपबंध है कि लोक सभा में राज्यों के प्रादेशिक निर्वाचन-क्षेत्रों से प्रत्यक्ष निर्वाचन द्वारा चुने गए 530 से अधिक तथा संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए ऐसी रीति से जो संसद विधि द्वारा उपबंधित करे , चुने गए 20 से अधिक सदस्य नहीं होंगे [अनुच्छेद 81 ( 1 ) ] .

   वह अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से जनता का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है क्योंकि उसका समूहन संघ , राज्यों तथ संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों के अनेक अंगों के रूप में होता है और राज्य सभा के सदस्यों का निर्वाचन राज्य विधान सभाओं के निर्वाचित सदस्य आनुपातिक पद्धति के अनुसार एकल संक्रमणीय मत द्वारा करते हैं [अनुच्छेद 80 ( 4 ) ] .
6. Eliciting Opinion : If a motion for circulation of the Bill for the purpose of eliciting opinion thereon is adopted , the Secretariat of the House circulates letters to all the State governments and Union territories asking them to publish the Bill in their Gazettes for inviting opinions of local bodies , associations , individuals or institutions concerned with the Bill .
   राय जानना ः यदि किसी विधेयक पर राय जानने के लिए उसे परिचालित करने का प्रस्ताव , स्वीऋत होता है तो उस सदन का सचिवालय सभी राज्य सरकारों और संघ राज्य क्षेत्रों को पत्र भेजकर उनसे कहता है कि वे विधेयक से संबंधित स्थानीय निकायों , संघों , व्यि>यों या संस्थाओं की राय आमंत्रित करने के लिए अपने अपने राजपत्रों में उसे प्रकाशित करें .
